LifeBinder is an online tool designed to help you organize and securely store critical personal, financial, and estate planning information in one convenient location. It’s structured around nine Tabs to make the process simple and comprehensive.

What are the nine Tabs of LifeBinder?
LifeBinder is organized into the following nine Tabs: Personal Information, Insurance, Assets, Digital World, Debts & Expenses, Legal, Estate Planning & Legacy, Income, and Taxes.

Who is LifeBinder for?
LifeBinder is for individuals, couples, and families who want to simplify their lives, prepare for emergencies, and ensure their loved ones have access to everything they might need in case of incapacity or death.

  • How do I create my LifeBinder account?

    Once you’ve received access, follow the link in your email to set up your account.

    How do I begin filling out my LifeBinder?

    Start with one Tab, such as Personal Information. Each Tab includes prompts and examples to guide you.

    Do I need to complete all the Tabs right away?

    No, you can work at your own pace. LifeBinder is designed to be dynamic, allowing you to add and update information as your life evolves.

    Can I access LifeBinder on any device?

    Yes, you can access your LifeBinder on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

  • What types of documents can I upload to LifeBinder?

    LifeBinder supports uploads of Word documents, PDFs, and JPG files, with a maximum file size of 10MB per upload. These documents can be attached to relevant Tabs, allowing you to store additional information securely and comprehensively.

    Can I share parts of my LifeBinder with others?

    Yes, LifeBinder allows you to share specific Tabs with trusted individuals. You can choose which Tabs to share, and the recipient will have view-only access to the information you select.

    Can I download or print my LifeBinder?

    Documents you have uploaded to LifeBinder can be downloaded directly. Tabs, on the other hand, can be printed into a PDF format, which can then be downloaded or printed for offline use. Many users find it helpful to print and maintain a companion physical binder for added accessibility.

  • Why should I use LifeBinder?

    LifeBinder provides peace of mind by ensuring your loved ones have access to all the critical information they need during times of incapacity or death. Beyond that, it helps you stay organized in your own life, making it easy to retrieve key information when you need it.

    How often should I update my LifeBinder?

    We recommend reviewing and updating your LifeBinder at least once a year or whenever a significant life event occurs, such as a new job, the purchase of an asset, or a change in your family structure. Small, consistent updates ensure your information stays accurate and useful.

    What’s the benefit of completing my LifeBinder?

    A fully completed LifeBinder acts as a guiding resource for you and your loved ones. It eliminates guesswork, reduces stress during emergencies, and ensures no critical information is overlooked. Think of it as a gift to yourself and your family, providing clarity and security.

  • How can I change the email address or password associated with my account?

    You can update your email address or password by logging into your account, navigating to your account settings, and making the necessary changes. For security reasons, you may need to verify changes through a confirmation email. If you no longer have access to the registered email address, please contact support for assistance. Note: Changes to email addresses/usernames are subject to additional verification processes.

    What happens to my account if I pass away or become incapacitated?

    Access to your LifeBinder after your death or incapacity requires appropriate legal documentation, such as a valid power of attorney, probate order, or guardianship order. For accounts of deceased users, a death certificate will also be required. All requests must comply with LifeBinder’s internal validation procedures at the time of the request to ensure the privacy and security of your information.

    How do I recover my account if I forget my login information?

    If you forget your password, you can use our automated 'Forgot Password' system to reset it quickly. For usernames, please note that your username is your registered email address. If you no longer remember your email address, contact support at support@lifebinder.com. We can confirm your identity by verifying your first and last name and sending a verification email to the associated email address. Unfortunately, if you no longer have access to the registered email address, username recovery may not be possible at this time.

    Can I cancel my LifeBinder account?

    Yes, you can cancel your account at any time. Before canceling, we recommend printing your binder Tabs as PDFs, downloading any uploaded documents, and notifying anyone you’ve shared LifeBinder with to ensure they are aware of the cancellation. Contact our support team to initiate the cancellation process. Please note that canceling your account will result in the deletion of your information.

    Can I transfer my account to someone else?

    LifeBinder accounts are non-transferable. If someone else wishes to use LifeBinder, they will need to create their own account.

  • How does LifeBinder protect my data?

    LifeBinder uses industry-standard encryption to secure your information both during transmission and while stored on our servers. We also employ regular security updates and data backups to safeguard your information against unauthorized access. Additionally, LifeBinder does not store or have access to your account password, ensuring maximum privacy for your credentials.

    Can anyone access my LifeBinder without my permission?

    No, only you have access to your LifeBinder unless you choose to share specific Tabs with trusted individuals. Shared Tabs are view-only and cannot be edited by the recipient.

    What happens to my data if I cancel my account?

    If you cancel your account, all your data, including uploaded documents, will be permanently deleted. We recommend downloading and printing any important information before initiating the cancellation process.

    Does LifeBinder share my data with third parties?

    LifeBinder does not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

    Can I control who sees specific Tabs in my LifeBinder?

    Yes, LifeBinder allows you to selectively share specific Tabs with trusted individuals. You have full control over which Tabs are shared and can revoke access at any time.

    Can I control who has access to the documents I upload?

    Uploaded documents are stored securely and are only accessible to you. When you choose to share a document, the process is handled via a secure link that expires after a set period. The person you share with will be able to download the document during that time.
