Our Story

LifeBinder began with a simple but powerful realization: even highly capable, organized families can struggle to find what they need in a crisis.

Co-founders Judy Linville and Laura Grice each saw this challenge firsthand through both their professional work and their personal lives. As women balancing careers, family responsibilities, and caregiving realities, they understood how difficult it can be to keep essential information organized across multiple responsibilities, generations, and life transitions. They also recognized a recurring problem in moments of stress: critical information was often missing, scattered, outdated, or inaccessible to the people who needed it most.

Judy brought the perspective of an estate planning attorney who understood how much care goes into helping clients create thoughtful plans for the future. Laura brought deep experience in insurance and planning conversations, along with a practical understanding of the information families often need in order to move forward confidently. Together, they saw the same gap from different angles: planning was happening, but the information needed to support that planning in real life was too often fragmented.

From that insight, LifeBinder was born.
