Judy believes peace of mind comes from preparation, and that belief now shapes every part of how LifeBinder works.

Before co-founding LifeBinder, Judy built a career grounded in solving real legal problems for real families. She brings more than 20 years of experience in estate planning, tax, elder law, trusts, probate, guardianship, and general business law to her work. Judy believes the practice of law is fundamentally about helping clients find solutions and plan for their future needs, and this client-centered thinking drives LifeBinder's approach to organizing life's most important information.

Judy founded Linville Law Office, PLLC, with a commitment to exceptional, personalized service for every client. Her firm works closely with individuals and families to build comprehensive, customized estate plans rather than relying on generic templates. She also encourages a team approach, often collaborating directly with a client's financial, tax, and other professional advisors.

A Foundation in Law, Business, and Numbers

Born and raised in North Carolina, Judy graduated from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in 1988 before earning her law degree from the UNC School of Law in 1991. She’s passed all four parts of the CPA exam, giving her a rare combination of legal, business, and financial fluency. That layered expertise is part of what makes LifeBinder's platform so thorough, as Judy understands the full range of information families need organized and accessible.

Why She Co-Founded LifeBinder

Judy created LifeBinder because she saw the same problem repeat itself again and again in her legal practice: families couldn’t access well-built plans when a crisis struck. LifeBinder exists to close that gap, transforming scattered documents into a structured, secure system that families and their professional advisors can rely on with confidence. For Judy, making life organization simple, secure, and stress-free is the direct result of two decades spent observing what happens when preparation and access do not align.

Judy stays actively engaged with the broader legal and elder law community. She’s a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She currently serves on the Legislative Committee for the North Carolina Estate Planning and Fiduciary Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. This continued involvement keeps her connected to the evolving needs of the families and professionals LifeBinder serves.
