Your organized life starts now.
Whether you're a professional looking to extend your practice or a family ready to get organized, LifeBinder has a path for you.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how B3 Solutions, LLC, doing business as LifeBinder® (“LifeBinder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the LifeBinder website, applications, platform, services, and related communications (collectively, the “Service”).
LifeBinder is designed to help individuals organize and selectively share important personal information and documents. Because users may choose to store highly sensitive information in their Binder, we treat privacy and security as core responsibilities of the Service.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with the LifeBinder Terms and Conditions. If you receive LifeBinder through a law firm, professional advisor, employer, sponsor, or other organization, that organization may also have its own privacy practices and obligations that are separate from this Policy.
This Policy applies to personal information processed by LifeBinder in connection with the Service, including information collected through lifebinder.com, account registration, use of the LifeBinder platform, customer support, and related communications.
This Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of law firms, financial professionals, employers, sponsors, or other third parties that may provide LifeBinder to you or interact with you through their own services.
We may collect information you provide when creating or maintaining an account, such as your name, email address, telephone number, account role, organization or advisor relationship, and other information needed to establish or support your account.
If you purchase a subscription directly from LifeBinder, payment transactions may be processed by third-party payment providers. LifeBinder may receive transaction-related information such as payment status, amount, date, billing contact information, or limited payment-method details needed for account administration.
Payment providers process payment-card or banking information under their own terms and privacy practices.
You may choose to enter, upload, store, organize, or share information and documents in your LifeBinder account. This may include personal, financial, insurance, legal, medical, tax, estate-planning, property, debt, income, expense, digital-account, family, or other sensitive information.
We refer to this information collectively as “User Content.”
User Content may include information about a spouse, partner, family member, beneficiary, advisor, agent, or other person.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate legal basis, permission, or authority to provide and use information concerning another person.
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device or browser information, authentication events, session information, log data, pages or features accessed, error information, and other information used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
We may collect information you provide when you contact LifeBinder for customer support, security assistance, account administration, billing questions, or other communications.
LifeBinder is designed to store information that may be highly sensitive. The types and amount of User Content stored in a Binder are determined primarily by the user.
LifeBinder does not require you to populate every field or category. You should store only information that you believe is appropriate for your use of the Service and that you are authorized to store.
LifeBinder does not sell Binder contents or use Binder contents for third-party behavioral advertising.
We process User Content as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, support, and administer the Service; to carry out user-directed sharing; and to comply with applicable law.
We may use personal information to:
LifeBinder uses third-party service providers to support functions such as hosting, infrastructure, software development and support, communications, payment processing, security, and other business operations.
These providers may process information on our behalf only as reasonably necessary to perform services for LifeBinder or as otherwise permitted by law.
LifeBinder establishes confidentiality, data-protection, and security expectations with service providers as appropriate to the nature and risk of the services provided.
We disclose information when you direct us to do so through LifeBinder sharing features, account permissions, Legacy Contact settings, or other features of the Service.
If you receive LifeBinder through a law firm, professional advisor, or other professional organization, authorized personnel of that organization may have access to account-administration information or User Content to the extent permitted by the applicable account configuration, role, professional relationship, or user-directed permissions.
If you receive LifeBinder through an employer, association, benefit provider, sponsor, or other Sponsoring Organization, the Sponsoring Organization does not have access to the contents of your Binder.
LifeBinder may provide a Sponsoring Organization with limited information reasonably necessary to administer its sponsored subscriptions. This may include the number of sponsored users and the names and email addresses of individuals receiving sponsored subscriptions.
This administrative information does not include information, documents, Tabs, or other User Content stored within a sponsored user’s Binder.
We may preserve or disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, misuse, or threats to the rights or safety of LifeBinder, our users, or others.
Nothing in this section creates a right for another person to obtain access to a user’s Binder contents following the user’s incapacity or death.
If LifeBinder is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed as part of due diligence or transferred as part of the transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections and applicable law.
LifeBinder may be provided through a law firm, financial professional, advisor, or other professional organization.
Depending upon the applicable account arrangement and permissions, authorized personnel of the professional organization may have administrative capabilities associated with the account, such as establishing or maintaining client relationships, assigning professionals or staff, uploading documents, assisting with implementation, or accessing information made available to them through the applicable account configuration or user-directed permissions.
LifeBinder may be provided through an employer, association, benefit provider, sponsor, or other organization (“Sponsoring Organization”).
A Sponsoring Organization does not have access to the contents of a sponsored user’s LifeBinder.
Sponsorship of a LifeBinder subscription does not give the Sponsoring Organization access to information, documents, Tabs, or other content stored within the user’s Binder.
LifeBinder may provide a Sponsoring Organization with limited account-administration information reasonably necessary to establish, manage, reconcile, or account for its sponsored subscriptions. This may include information such as:
This administrative information does not include the contents of a user’s Binder.
Users receiving LifeBinder through a Sponsoring Organization will be informed that their subscription is sponsored and that limited identifying and account-administration information may be shared with the Sponsoring Organization for these purposes.
Certain Binders may involve more than one owner or authorized user, such as spouses or partners.
Each user’s access is governed by the ownership structure and permissions associated with the account.
LifeBinder allows users to share selected information with other people.
The user initiating the share is responsible for selecting the information to be shared and the intended recipient.
Once information is lawfully viewed, downloaded, copied, printed, or otherwise received outside the LifeBinder platform, LifeBinder cannot control the recipient’s subsequent use, storage, or disclosure of that information.
LifeBinder may allow a user to designate a Legacy Contact or establish similar access through features available within the Service.
The scope and timing of that access are determined by the settings and procedures established by the Binder owner.
LifeBinder does not independently grant new access to a user’s Binder following the user’s incapacity or death.
Access is determined by ownership, sharing, Legacy Contact, and other permissions established by the Binder owner before the event.
LifeBinder may provide reasonable assistance to an appropriate person in understanding the available process for using access rights that were already established by the Binder owner. LifeBinder will not create new access rights, change Binder ownership, expand existing permissions, or provide Binder contents to a person who was not previously granted access by the Binder owner.
A power of attorney, guardianship appointment, court order, letters testamentary, letters of administration, or other legal authority does not, by itself, create access rights within LifeBinder.
Binder owners are responsible for establishing appropriate access for a spouse, partner, agent under a power of attorney, executor, personal representative, trustee, family member, or other trusted person before incapacity or death if they want that person to have access through LifeBinder.
LifeBinder maintains administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information appropriate to the nature of the Service and the sensitivity of the information processed.
Our security program includes measures relating to access control, authentication, encryption, security monitoring, vulnerability management, secure software development and change management, workforce security, vendor risk management, incident response, and other safeguards appropriate to our operations.
Security measures are reviewed and may evolve in response to changes in technology, threats, business operations, and applicable requirements.
No online service, storage system, transmission method, or security control can eliminate all risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we determine that a security incident requires notification under applicable law, we will provide legally required notifications in accordance with applicable requirements.
LifeBinder retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and administer the Service, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, satisfy contractual requirements, and comply with applicable law.
Retention periods may vary based on the type of information, the nature of the account, the user’s relationship with a professional or sponsoring organization, security and fraud-prevention needs, backup practices, and legal or regulatory requirements.
You may request deletion of an eligible LifeBinder account by contacting [email protected] or by using deletion functionality made available within the Service.
Account deletion may be subject to legal, security, contractual, recordkeeping, and technical limitations.
Deletion from active systems may not result in immediate deletion from protected backups. Information in backups may remain for a limited period until those backups are overwritten or retired in accordance with our retention practices.
Because deleting a shared or jointly configured Binder may affect other authorized users or associated information, users should confirm the consequences before requesting deletion.
LifeBinder and its service providers may use cookies, session technologies, local storage, or similar technologies to operate the website and Service, maintain sessions, remember preferences, support authentication and security, understand Service performance, and improve functionality.
You may be able to control certain cookies through your browser or device settings. Disabling necessary or functional technologies may affect your ability to use portions of the Service.
If LifeBinder uses analytics or other technologies that require additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide those choices where required.
We may send transactional, security, administrative, account, billing, and service-related communications that are necessary to operate your account or provide the Service.
We may also send marketing or informational communications where permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing communications using the unsubscribe method provided in the communication.
Opting out of marketing messages will not prevent us from sending important transactional, account, or security notices.
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights concerning your personal information, such as the right to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing.
To submit a privacy request, contact us at [email protected].
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may also decline or limit a request where permitted by law, including when necessary to protect another person’s privacy, preserve security, comply with legal or contractual obligations, or maintain information that we are legally entitled or required to retain.
If your LifeBinder account is provided through a professional organization, some requests may need to be coordinated with that organization depending on the nature of the information and the applicable relationship.
If your subscription is provided by a Sponsoring Organization, LifeBinder may need to coordinate account-administration matters with that organization. The Sponsoring Organization does not receive access to your Binder contents as part of that coordination.
LifeBinder will not discriminate against a user for exercising a privacy right provided by applicable law.
LifeBinder is intended for use by adults and is not directed to children.
Users must meet the eligibility requirements stated in the LifeBinder Terms and Conditions to establish an account.
The Service may contain links to or integrations with websites or services operated by third parties.
LifeBinder does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
The presence of a link or integration does not mean that LifeBinder is responsible for the third party’s independent privacy, security, or data-handling practices.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, applicable law, technology, or other circumstances.
When changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or by another appropriate method.
The updated Privacy Policy will state its effective date and last updated date.
