While AWS secures the physical infrastructure—the buildings, hardware, and networking equipment—LifeBinder is responsible for the logical and data-level security of the platform, including how information is stored, accessed, and protected within our application.

Access Control

Access to LifeBinder's systems is secured through internal access controls, including role-based permissions that ensure team members can only view or interact with the information necessary for their role. Permissions are reviewed on an ongoing basis and adjusted as roles change or team members depart. Together, these controls form a critical layer of defense protecting member information at every point it's handled.

Encryption

LifeBinder utilizes strong encryption practices to protect sensitive data in transit, meaning information moving between your device and our servers is scrambled using industry-standard protocols so it can't be intercepted or read by unauthorized parties. In addition to a username and password, LifeBinder adds another layer of security to the login process by offering two-factor authentication (2FA). With 2FA enabled, accessing your account requires not just something you know (your password) but also something you have, like a one-time code sent to your device.

Even if a password is ever compromised through phishing or a breach, an attacker would still need your second factor to log in, making 2FA one of the simplest, most effective ways to protect your account.
